    Network Printer

Have small network, 2 Windows, 1 Linux, one shared printer Canon BJC620. Use a generic print server with NetWare connected through a Linksys router to share the printer with the 2 Win machines. How do I set up the Linux machine to also share this printer?

    Thanx in advance!

I haven't had much experience in this, but a quick search on google came up with the following links that could help you:

    http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Printing-H...ORK-TO-NETWARE
    http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue34/nw_burger.html

Second one's a bit old, so I'm sure there's an easier way. btw, which distro are you using? Maybe there's an app that can configure this for you.

Thanx for the response, I did not think to search. I am using the latest distro from Libranet.

Looks like CUPS may be the answer. Not sure how to configure the printer through GNOME. There must be a CUPS Server program in GNOME (like KDE) but can not seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm using Gnome2 right now, and there doesn't seem to be any system tool for printing. Don't remember if there was one in gnome 1.4.

I got cups running on my box by reading the documentation (
    http://www.cups.org/documentation.html ) .

My situation is simpler though (I have a local printer) , but once you can get cupsd running then it's a matter of configuring through a web browser. You'll be able to connect to your running cups server and configure everything there.

I meant there was nothing in Gnome2's Application menus for printing configuration. Something similar to RedHats' printing configuration in the system menus (I think that's where it was)
