    Slackware 8.1

Last night I installed Slack 8.1 on my girl friends laptop. The process went smoothly, although I did have to install KDE and QT on my own. That would be due to the fact that the ISO I downloaded was incorrect!

There haven't been too many changes in the installation. It's unfortunate that Gnome 2 and two more versions of SSH were released soon after the release of 8.1

On a funner note: Linux has passed my girl friends test of ICQ (licq), Browsing (mozilla), and an mp3 player (xmms)!
She's running KDE. I just set up icons on the desktop so she doesn't need to get into finding anything yet. The easier it is right off the bat the better.

Anyone else installed Slackware 8.1 yet?

I havn't installed it yet. I just got my pay-check, and plan to buy around about 120 GB HDD. After vacation which is starting tommorrow. So when I get back I'll buy that, and turn it into my primary drive, and switch my 30 GB HDD over to a Win32 drive. I'll let you know what I think of 8.1 then

I have 8.1 on another drive, but have not really played with it. Especially now since a new Red Hat beta is out. ;D
