Suse and Star Office 6.0

I have Suse 8.0 and I see now that they are selling, for $24.95 a copy of Star Office 6.0. Does it make sense to buy it?

it depends. do you want staroffice?
do you want to use suse?
if the answer is yes for both, then go ahead, it definitly worth it (i think SO is about US$75)
but if you want to keep open source, go for openoffice.org, which is the open sourced version of staroffice.

I think I remember seeing something about that cd from Suse containing other updates besides StarOffice 6.0. Including an update to KDE 3.01

I did get that staroffice 6 cd / suse upgrade thing, I bought it at the same time as suse8.1, since I have staroffice 5 I thought that would be a good deal to get an upgrade.

Bummer! that cd didn't work in suse8.1

is there a way around it ?

cause otherwise that was a complete waste of money

I assume the SUSE part wouldnt work since you have a newer version than what is on the CD (8.1 vs. 8.0). Can you just install Star Office 6 from it?
