mozilla install

Trying to install the latest Mozilla on Suse 8.0. I untar and get to the install, but it says I dont have permission to create the usr/local/mozilla directory. So, I do a su and log in as root, I think? create the directory, but it still wont let me install there. I totally logged out and logged in as root, but then I couldnt get to the directory where the tar was located. I I am stumped....help would be appreciated...thanks.

Are these the linux installation instructions you followed?

Strange that they don't provide rpm's for Suse.

do you have the plain .tar.gz file or the one with the installer?
you should just have to su to root and run the mozilla-installer program and it should install in /usr/local/mozilla
