    koffice

    I have finally got kde3 up and running, but in the process of installing it it removed all of koffice, Is there a version of koffice that will work with kde3, or can i reinstall the old one.

    You've most likely done yourself a favor without even realizing it.
    Koffice it pretty much the pits. You're much better off with OpenOffice or StarOffice.

    I second the above.

    StarOffice and OpenOffice are both excellent alternatives to Koffice, and all around good programs. I'd recommend OpenOffice myself, as it's what I've been using for the last little while. I've been doing a lot of work with Office XP/2k documents, and it has been flawless in it's interoperability with them.

    Yes, there is a version of KOffice for KDE 3. I remember seeing the release announcement for it.

    KOffice is a pretty good office suite if you don't need to import docs created with "the office suite from the evil empire". :P : The import filters suck.

    koffice has anti-aliased fonts straight out of the rpm
    but i don't like much more of it....

    yeah i did a paper and Koffice and had those issues.
