It's called kmix. It should be available via the menu or you can start it from the terminal window.
Yes, I'm a newbie. I can't seem to figure out where the damn volume control is in KDE. All my sounds are extremely loud and my speakers don't have a volume control of their own. My keyboard has a volue control but it doesn't seem to work under linux.
Can anyone help me with this?

you can make it start up with kde
go into your autostart folder (i think its ~/.kde/Autostart) and create a link to it (right click>new>launcher) then it will always be there for you![]()
