    Linuxconf Problem

    Just downloaded the latest linuxconf rpms and installed.
    No probs with the installation but shen i try and run it from the commad line with a

    linuxconf

    i get

    linuxconf
    Error message from remadmin :Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
    Error message from remadmin :Xlib: No protocol specified
    Error message from remadmin :
    Error message from remadmin :Error: Can't open display: :0.0
    remadmin (GUI frontend) exiting abnormaly

    Any ideas?
    I stopped my vnc server running and the problem was still there.

    Linuxconf is evil. :P

    Guaranteed to fix it.
    rpm -e linuxconf

    Try here instead if you need a GUI config tool for something Red Hat does not yet provide.

    You can try running xhost +localhost as root. If that doesn't work,try xhost +
    Unfortunately the latter opens up a hole as your x-server will be open to the world. If you're behind a lan, that might be acceptable, if not - be sure and cover it with your firewall.
