    Firefox 1.0.1

So I DLed the new Firefox, I am using it to post this so it works.

The problem is, when I close the browser it gone. I have to repete the install process to have the browser work again. it sux so how do I fix it?

The final step before the Firefox splash install screen is:
    root@ubuntuone:/home/bob/firefox-installer # ./firefox-installer

The ./ is not going to keep something running after you close the term or browser is it?

Hmm, did you delete the original installation directory or did you install right into the old one? I guess some people are having some issues if the didn't delete the old directory first, then install fresh.

I haven't tried it yet, but I will let you know if I get the same results.

i had the same problem as you had. What I did was uninstall the old firefox, then I installed the new one in the same directory as the old one. I didn't have any problems after that. I noticed that the installer wanted to install in the install directory, which seems a little silly
