creating my own scripts

Could anybody help me,

Im getting a little braver, and interested in creating my own scripts, could anyone point me to some newbie pages to help me get started.

I guess you haven't decided what you want to script with yet? I'll assume bash and say you should go to here.

I don't know much about perl, but I do plan on learning it some day. If that's what your interested in, all I can suggest is perl.com and go from there.

Learn Perl. Get the Llama book by O'Reilly, "Learning Perl". You won't be disapointed. It's more powerful than bash and there's a great potential in the job market.
