Unfortunately, open-source DVD UNencryption is "illegal" in this country. DeCSS is what it's known as, check out 2600.com about it sometime. I would suppose it's possible to get your hands on it, google would be my first stop.Originally Posted by Bogler

I though libdvdcss was meant to do the unencryption?
I have managed to get good ol Ogle working. Looks good and sounds good. I switched DMA on and it makes a big difference.
Strange with the Ogle gui though, i have the rpm, installed it, no errors or deps and when i start Ogle i never get a gui?
I had Ogle on 7.2 and it was always fine, gui wise.
Any ideas?
Cheers

This looks to be your problem.
Before you compile MPlayer, you should install libdvdcss-0.0.3.ogle3.tar.gz and libdvdread-0.9.2.tar.gz. This will allow you to play DVD with really good quality, and good speed. The speed comes from using the xv, mga, xmga driver.
