question about bind9

Hi everybody,

I've a little question i can't find answer.
I've install bind9.1 on my Mandrake 8.0, i've write my zone files, my named.conf, i run it, i look my logs which tell me "is running" without errors.

But, when i use dig or nslookup, there is a problem like "connection time out, server unreachebled" or
when i use rndc : i've got "connection refused"

SO WHERE IS THE MISTAKE ?

If someone of you could help me, it will be very nice.

Do you have a firewall installed that is blocking the connections?

No, i've no firewall installed.
Where do you think the problem come from ?

Are you getting any errors in /var/log/messages when you start bind?

when i use rndc : i've got "connection refused"

Did you configure rndc? Look at section 3.4.1.2 of the BIND 9 Administrator Reference Manual

I try it and tell you what's going on...

But i've not modified my rndc.conf, so i don't understand.
