    Red Hat 7.3

A Red Hat 7.3 directory has appeared on the ftp sites. ;D We will probably see the release within the next couple of weeks.

    Excellent News ;D

Why are there so many iso images? There seem to be 5 of them in the betas recently released, this seems a bit on the hefty side?

I guess they just keep adding more things. :P One of the biggest reasons is that they eliminated the Powertools cd starting with 7.2 and started to include the "best" packages that were on it in the main distribution.

7.3 will have five cd's CD 4 & CD 5 will be source RPMs. CD 1, CD 2, and CD 3 will be the binary rpms. All 3 will be needed for a full install.

    Re:Red Hat 7.3

Hard to keep anything secret these days. I saw this on USENET.

Mirror admins: Red Hat 7.3 will release on May 6th. In preparation of making
the latest release of Red Hat Linux available to the mirrors. We'll be
doing basically the same thing we did with the beta
release. We will prestage all the ISOs to give mirrors a change to get
the ISOs, and then pushing the exploded trees out separately.

Please note, none of the content should be made available prior to May 6th.
We'll send out another message when the exploded trees are placed on the
mirror hosts, and another reminder when you can open read access to the
    world.
I didn't expect it until at least the 13th. We will see if this is true.

    Re:Red Hat 7.3

I and One of my friends tried to install 7.3 last night. It was anything BUT smooth. My install got about 9 packages into and took a dump. He tried to upgrade from 7.2 which didnt work, and ended up formatting and starting from scratch. It did eventually install on his system. Anyone had probs with it like this?
