    Connecting to the Internet

    Hi

I've just recently installed Linux 2.0.30 and I'm having trouble connecting to the internet. I've set up scripts but I still cannot connect. When I type "pppd ttyS2 ..." it just gives me a greater than sign (>), and if I type anything it ignores it and a new sign appears.

Could anyone tell me why it is doing this and how I can fix it?

Now that's old. :P 2.0.30 is the kernel version, what Linux distribution did you install? Red Hat? Slackware? SUSE? Debian?

Slackware is now at version 8
you might want a newer version

when i had all my config scripts up i connected with ifup ppp0
ifconfig should display all the network drivers (network or modem)
