Adding something to your path

I downloaded Mosfet's Liquid theme, went to ./configure and i got this message"Checking for X... Configure error can't fin X includes, please check your installation and add the correct paths"

I did a "whereis X" and got this, /usr/X11R6/bin/X /usr/bin/X11/X.
So i did "$path= /usr/X11R6/bin/X:/usr/bin/X11/X, but i still get the same message when i try to configure. Where do i put the path of X

Do you use mandrake??
Liquid doesn't work straight out of the box, you need to run another script first.
Ill get it for you if you need it.

otherwise, to change the path:
$export PATH=$PATH:/foo/bar/

has to be caps.
This will only change the path for the current session and it will be restored to what it was when you log in again

No my distro is Libranet 1.9.1,
I did export PATH=$PATH/usr/X11R6/bin/X:/usr/bin/X11/X but it's still not finding X ???

What it is looking for are the XFree86 devel libraries and headers. Do you have them installed?

No, i haven't got thenm installed, i have had a look at my install cd and there is no mention of XFree86-dev package, so i went to the Debian packages site and could not find any mention there either, or at xfree86.org, where would i get the dev package, the version of X i'm using is "xfree86-common-4.0.2-1". and the xfree86-S3virge one.
