    IDE Master / Slave

Is there any way that i can interrogate the OS (RedHat 7.2) to discover which device the OS is seeing as the master and slave device on an IDE channel?

For some reason my system (after a re-install) is seeing my master CD device as CDROM1 and my slave device as CDROM. This is obviously the worong way round and i need to sort it out.

    Thanks

    Re:IDE Master / Slave

look at /etc/fstab to see the mount points
otherwise, /dev/cdom and /dev/cdrom1 are symlinks to /dev/hdc and /dev/hdd.
You can delete them and remake with ln -s hdc cdrom
