No VIDEO CARD!

??? Im a newbie. Ive started installing RH 7.2, but the graphical installation didnt start with my RealMagic 64/GX 2Mb Video Card -so I installed it under text mode. After installation Xconfigurator was STILL unable to find my video card, and its name wasnt on the list. After trying to start xwindow with startx sometimes the screen has started to blink several times, than nothing had happened! GUI didnt start!!!!
Next time ive started the installation with an S3Virge 4 Mb video card, and everything was perfect! There was ghraphical installation and a very nice Graphical User INterface, too!
Plzz help me! Whats the problem?

Don't panic

It's only a driver issue

I have the feeling that your card is a NVIDIA card (i may be wrong)
check out www.nvidia.com and do some reading. The drivers are there
and a script to establish the correct ones to use.


If not, come back and it'll be debated and ultimately sorted.

RealMagic 64/GX 2Mb Video Card

I am going to take a wild guess and say that card has an S3 Virge GX chipset on it. There should be a "generic" entry for that chipset listed when you run Xconfigurator.
