I am looking forward to this release. I still think 2.2.2 is great.
This is a response to a bug discussion from the Skipjack mailing list. It looks like from this we can assume KDE 3.0 final must be very close to be being released.

This is because we're using a different version internally (3.0 final) and
can't release it to the public yet.
It's in our build environment though, so the kdemultimedia package (which
provides libartsmidi) was built against it and doesn't work with the old
(public) version.
This will be fixed as soon as we're allowed to release the 3.0 final
packages.

Looks like KDE fans will have a new release to play with very soon.

I haven't played with KDE 3 in the Skipjack beta much. I have been using Gnome for the most part. I can put of some screenshots if there is anything you would like to see. ;DOriginally Posted by jmbrinks

I have been using KDE for a while now. I seem to like it more than Gnome. When I first started usinf Linux I used Gnome, but I wasn't impressed. I am a fan of Konquerer and KOffice, so I am sure that has something to do with it.
I am looking forward to KDE3 and KOffice1.2.
What have you seen that is new in KDE3?
I used to love gnome - with the sexy Enlightenment Windowmanager. mmm, transparant windows. But it annoys me a great deal. So did KDE. So right now im using WindowMaker. *but* I will probably install KDE3 when released - I got a beta somewhere - I was going to have to rape my system to get it to work - so I didnt.
