    Downloading a file in Netscape

I've been wanting to find out about this for a long time.

When I download a file from the net, often, Netscape dumps the file onto the browser window (instead of asking me where I want to save it). I only experienced this on Netscape running in Linux. Is there another control to activate the command to save the download to a file?

Doesn't nutscrape offer a right-click function to "save target as..." or something simliar?

    shift-click should work
but chances are it will dload it as ascii not binary and the file won't work.
    (i think)
i have had that problem before, but have moved on from inadequate programs such as netscrap
other options are to use mozilla (woohoo! - http://www.mozilla.org) or opera (yeah! - http://www.opera.com)

alastair is correct shift-click will open the save as dialog box, but it should not result in a corrupt download. shift-click is the same as right click/save as

    P.S. fixed alastair ;D
