Uninstall it and re-install it using the /net option. Install it in a directory all users can read. Then run setup as each user. Staroffice supported the /net option. I believe OpenOffice supports the same option.

I recently installed OPenOffice as root, is there anyway i can make it available to users on my system?
It is installed in /root/Openoffice
I tried moving the directory but i get red "flashing" when i do an ls -al, why is this?

How did you install? You installed using the source, instead of the binary? You should just be able to just delete the OpenOffice folder in your root directory. When I tried one of the OpenOffice builds last year I just used the binary.Originally Posted by Bogler

gunzipped the file
untarred the file
cd to directory
./setup
answered the installation questions
that was it
