    changing paths

HEy, I am having probs compiling software. Its having probs finding gtk in the path. I know I have it installed, as I am running gkrellm in X. How do you add something to your default path? Last time I tried it, I hosed it up to the point that nothing worked (dont know how I did it, only that I did it).

Post the errors you are getting. Do you have the development libraries installed?

    Re:changing paths

If you know the path you can just do

    export PATH=<gtk path here>:$PATH

You would not want to use telnet, it transmits the users password in plain text. Something like SSH would be appropriate...
