    Hmmm hackers paradise?

I was comparing the package listing between the stable debian and the unstable and sheesh...I want to know what they are thinking. There are atleast 5 packages that I looked at and they ranged from packet sniffers to aggressive password crackers, to remote key stroke logging, etc....

    I say DAMN!

I am surprised these are included i the standard packages.

Many of these tools are freely available from numerous sites throughout the web. Here are some of my favorites:

    http://www.ideahamster.org/tools.htm
    http://www.winwhatwhere.com/w3i4/index.htm

    many more...but good start....

Oh yeah I know they are available, that and much more...but in the standard packages?!?! I just find that amazing to me. I mean an aggressive password cracker that is referenced against the built in dictionary for Linux...I mean damn....I don't think this stuff should be included in the main packages. But what do I know :-\

They include that with the idea of checking your own users passwords, not trying to break into someone's system.

Well hell....why are they doing it all of a sudden and I surely haven't seen it in any other distros, but maybe I been oblivious to them... :-\

Red Hat used to include a password cracker in their distribution. I will have to look and see if they are still including one.

I think one of the main reasons they are starting to do this is because security is becoming a top priority with administrators now. Also, I guess they put the packages in there for the administrator on the go
