    Ah yes,you just found my problem JimH.Thank you,this has annoyed me for some time now.Let me go install Gnome linuxconf and see what that does. THANKS!

    If you want the GUI for linuxconf you must install the gnome-linuxconf rpm. The linuxconf rpm only provides the console mode interface. The gnome based GUI for linuxconf runs under both Gnome and KDE.

    Yep,That did it.Installed gnome-linuxconf rpm and now things are fine.Thanks for the help!
