I ran the commands insmod soundcore and insmod emu10k1 but could you give info on editing the bootscript.I am not sure what to do about it.My soundcard is Soundblaster Live Platinum(well that's obvious hence emu10k1) :P :P :P :P :P

Thanks for the help.Shall be reinstalling Slack.It was not broken so I fixed it.Real good.Everyone here would be proud. However,got the info I need to get sound at least.Thanks again.My thirst for Linux knowledge continues.
