Slack and Kernel Compile:IMPOSSIBLE?

I've tried and tried only get kernel panics.Why is slack such a pain in the a$$?No other distro I've tried gives me probs.Anyone out there have some insight that I don't?

I will get back to trying it here very shortly. I get DSL soon so I'll be able to download a kernel and play with it more. Also I have to redownload the slackware ISO so I am definitely waiting for DSL!

I will HOPEFULLY! be able to look at this kernel compile problem this weekend. I keep gettting side tracked by something else. Anyone know of a really fast Slackware mirror site?

Here is a site that hauls a$$ if you can get in:carroll.cac.psu.edu .Only something around 100 users at a time are allowed in but I download ISO's from there in about 1hr. each.

Yep,true story,believe they were 630-645 meg downloads.Oh,as you prolly know,the later the better to get on the server.

Don't know why this is, but I have found as a general rule that any iso regardless of the distro is fastest downloaded if you choose the korea sites...the .kr sites. Let me know if you experience different or better. It is strange but even with my rinky dink modem I download steady and as fast as a modem will go through .kr sites.

You know what,I got a good download off a Korean site once when the sites I normally use were busy.Think it was Slack 7.1 I was going after.

I did it! YES!!! WOO HOO!! I compiled the kernel...I don't know what the deal has been this whole time, but it worked! YES!!!

edited lilo and ran it then took the plunge! IT WORKED! YES!
