    Computer Convention

I went to a computer convention today sponsored by Microsoft.

It was pretty good, a couple seminars on security, so I enjoyed those.

My problem was: When you walk into the place, they hand you a beige Microsoft XP book bag that is like a purse. I shouldn't complain since I'm getting something for free, but why would a multi-billion dollar organization hand out a bunch of low quality beige "purses" to computer nerds? I mean, I don't know anyone else that will actually use it, but if it were black or something, and actually made out of a decent material, and didn't have the long strap for your shoulder, it would be cool and be of use. Another amazing idea from Microsoft.

I did get a really nice XP pen though, I suppose that makes up for it.

    Ah well.

Only good thing I ever got from MS was a free copy of MS Office 2000. When I worked in computer retail they had learning conferences for us all the time, and they always handed out free products. So I guess I saved 800 bucks on it! hehe.

At least this will give M$ something to make when Linux drives them out of the software business.
