If you give a man a fire he'll be warm, if you light the man on fire he'll be warm for life.

I read about how XP's embedded firewall will, by default, not monitor outgoing connections. That means if a hole is found to bypass the firewall for incoming connections to the machine and the system is circumvented, unless otherwise specified by a user, the firewall will not bother checking any outgoing connections from that system.
Lets not forget that they implemented the standard IP stack into XP ( as Win2k had, or close to standard anyways ) so now, the soon to be most used desktop operating system in the world, is capable of running programs that implement raw sockets. 1 million+ node DDOS from source IP: 10.10.10.10, I think so...
Intelligent Security Implimentation Award goes to Microsoft for their most innovative and secure OS to date!

Hi Jim,
Novell is just a file server that can have a web interface. The only thing that Novell has going for them is that they have the highest security rating of any file server on the market. Up until IntranetWare 4.11 Novell was just command prompt for it's administration. It had the old dBase type menu systems. NetWare is DOS based but the administration can be done from Windows machines now. Novell has been hacked just as Unix has but not very often.
Neil
and novell can have some great uptimes too.....
