    Lindows

I don't know if anyone has read this yet but here is the link:

    http://www.lindows.com/

The operating system runs Windows and Linux software. They're being sued by Microsoft because of the name. They have some screenshots of IE, Excel, and Outlook running on it. They say it will be released the first quarter of 2002 for 99.00.

The only good thing about it is it may encourage more windoze users to try Linux. Benefit being It will allow them to gradually migrate to native Linux apps.

The other good thing is that for 99.00 if you have 3 computers in your house you can stick it on all 3. Unlike Windows XP 299.00 for the first system and 254.00 for each additional system.

I read the entire article on the Lindows site. Sounds like Microsoft is trying the bully tactic again. I made sure that I signed to join the mailing list. Microsoft can have my name if they want it. The Lindows list manager only asks for your email address, city, state, country, and first name. It doesn't ask for a street address.

There is also a section to suggest what Windows based software that you would like to see operate with this OS.

From what I have read Lindows uses Linux for its base and a lot of the Wine code. They have 200 developers and the CEO has put up 5 million. He's the same guy that started MP3.com.
