That surprises me! Linus personally has to sign off on each version of the kernel. Maybe starting to slack off a bit?

Ok,so has anyone compiled 2.4.12 yet? I downloaded it but that's all.Is there anything special about it?
johnqpublic,
Nothing special, it just fixed a major problem with the 2.4.11 that had to be fixed ASAP. Yes I've compiled it, and yes on my Slackware BOX ;D

Ok I've posted this once before here

tion=display&num=1000146097
Also what's not posted there is that once you'ved finished making bzImage or make modules_install you need to mv the System.map file from the /usr/src/linux dir to the /boot dir of Slackware then mv the bzImage from /arch/i386/boot to / dir of Slackware and rename it to vmlinuz or whatever you want to call it. Then after this is done edit your /etc/lilo.conf file then re-run lilo.
