    JPG's from Windoze to Linux

When i mail jpg's from my (work) Win2000 machine to my Linux box and try and open them i can't. I noticed that Linux seems to give them a .ZIP extension?

    Thanks

    Bog..

Are you zipping the jpg's before you e-mail them? Is your windoze e-mail client zipping them automatically? What are you trying to view them with in Linux?

Should have known to include more information.

I am not zipping the files before sending. I simply email them to my ISP account from the Win machine then open sylpheed under RH7.2 and detach the files, it is at that stage that i notice thet they are zipped.

I suppose it could just be a case of unzipping them.

    Thanks

I found out that all mail going via a client is being zipped.
    Woops. Silly Question.

I was wondering if you network was zipping them automatically. Very smart, really improves network performance. Thumbs up to your system admins. ;D

Not only that, but it'll keep ditzy users from blindly opening attachments, decreasing the risk of the lovely OE propagated viruses.
