Hey, guys ;D

well I put ubuntu on a pc that is going to be a fileserver and desktop usage, I put 2 HDD same side and speed. During the breezy install I noticed it had a software raid option, so I selected it and think I did it right, but I was wondering how can I find out if I set it up right?

You can use raidtools (almost all distros have it) to check.

Many had been switching over to mdadm because it's newer and cleaner at managing software raid. On Ubuntu, you can just apt-get install mdadm.
