proftpd showing ip address

Hey guys, lately my ftp server has been getting more and more connections. I know I should have done something about this from the start.

well when I go to my FTP server it displays my IP to the world, not in the address bar of the web broswer but rather in the page itself. is there a way I can get rid of it or have it say something else?

Check your <VirtualHost> setting in your /etc/proftpd.conf file to see any un-usual settings such as hostname directives. Otherwise, post your conf file and we will help you look for a skrewed setting.

Well, from this alone, it doesn't looks like there is anything unusual going on.

You should try defining your server name.

Or MASQ your server like this.

The problem might be you DO NOT have it defined.
