Ubuntu NVidia Drivers

Hi,

Tomorrow Im leaving towards Austria to ski, so everyone:
Merry Christmas
Just one question: Where is a how-to about installing NVidia drivers for Ubuntu? The 'Debian' way doesn't work and the official installer suggests me to get and compile my kernel sources, which is even more scary in Ubuntu. I'm looking for something like the NVidia drivers in the Livna repo for Fedora

Well, depending on the version of your nvidia card. Mine is

compunuts@sienna64:~$ sudo lspci
0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV10DDR [GeForce 256 DDR] (rev 10)
compunuts@sienna64:~$

Then the driver is simply "nv" in the "Driver" section of "xorg.con" file instead of "nvidia" as in the ubuntuguide.org .
