Quickly: We are a Redhat/Oracle shop and there are many opportunities for learning/creating. I don't expect a seasoned expert, but I do insist on someone who has done personal Linux projects like web/mail/kernel/script/programming if no real production experience.
If you are interested or know someone who may be, PM me or email me at wgoodric at gmail dot com and I will give more details, contact info and the job posting text.
Since we are on the subject of job offers within the Linux world:
Several engineering positions involving Conary technology are available at rPath's RTP (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill), North Carolina location. Candidates should have the following qualifications:
* An understanding of Software Configuration Management (SCM) concepts and techniques
* An understanding of Linux-based Operating System structure and development
* Web-based application development experience
* Experience applying automated testing methodology
* Python knowledge preferred
(see rpath.com for application methods)
for those who don't know rPath is a distribution started by former RedHat employees - amongst others the guy who wrote most of anaconda. Conary is really cool technology (think abs meets portage meets rpm).
