Thanks for posting! There are, of course, some compatibility issues with newer compilers. For newer Ubuntu/Debian and Fedora systems you have to install compatibility libraries with:

yum install compat-libstdc++-33
for yum

apt-get install compat-libstdc++-33
for apt

Hope this helps if someone has trouble ;D
