Refresh rate limited to 60 hz in Ubuntu? (FIXED)

One thing to be careful of in slackware (variants thereof) is that the configuration tool sometimes doubles sections in xorg.conf file. Have a look-see in the file. If it has, comment out the stuff thats doubled.

Also one trick to find the specs on a monitor is to google for:

"monitor name" horiz


Any site with "horiz" will usually have detailed specs.
