Talking to a Windows Server from Linux

I have a need to access a Windows server remotely from my CentOS workstation. Kind of the reverse of what I have done in the past (i.e. samba). Anyone have experience doing this kind of thing and recommendations?

You mean remote-controlling it or accessing files from it?

For remote controll, you can use vnc, or install terminal services on the server and use rdesktop to take control of it.

If you want to access files from it, you can still use smb. Just create a share on the server and access it with smbmount.

You can also make it mount automatically by adding it to fstab.

If you want to do authentication against AD, things get a little harder. I haven't figured it out yet.

I have installed Rdesktop - just what I needed. I need to be able to log on to the server and access the Windows desktop locally on my workstation. Works very well.
