I just wanted to mention that i had a similar problem (Command --profile filemanagement not found) last week on suse 9.1 although the cause was different but the solution may be the same.
This is what i did: (i have been using linux 4 about 2weeks, you may want to recheck my solution before using!)
On a harddisk reboot, I logged in as root and copied my essential /home data files to my flashdrive. Then I ran reiserfsck --check /dev/hda2 and it reported 9 corrupted files. Next I ran reiserfsck --rebuid-tree /dev/hda2 and it fixed the corrupted files.
