It really has always been about fedora. I havent have much problems except for getting software for x86_64. I might just try installing ubuntu. I have a 80 gig hd now.
If I remember correctly, you've got yourself AMD64 box? If so, what distro did you install on it? A few people are having problem installing Ubuntu on it so I'd like to see if you've encounter any issues. Mine works perfectly so I'm puzzled. :-\

Yeah, that's cool .... If you install Ubuntu on it, let me know the progress, will you? Then may be we can help others on why it's such a problem installing them.
I want to try Fedora and Debian on my 64 box as well but I have got no time to mess around with even though I've got 300 GB SATA drive.
Is yours SATA HDD?
Yup. I ditched my dying ide. I got it for 50 bucks. 20 gigs was already enought room for me.
I've been using SuSE x86_64, and I'm liking it. Some of the software is a little dated though...
Compunuts:
I was not able to install Ubuntu. It gave me some error message about boot strap. I had same prob with i386 on my friends computer.
Which one did you install? Horay (released) or Breezy (dev)? I can send you the CD if it will make a difference since I got it working OK.
I tried installing 5.10. I am not sure if a diff cd will make a diff. Hey BTW when you are in town Pleasanton/Dublin let me know. Maybe we could go out for lunch or something.
Mine still is Horay so I think may be that's the reason. Breezy on my laptop is all screw up now with the last udev bug.
Oh yeah, let me also know if you come down to SJ/SC area. We can hang out sometime. Really though, we are only about 30 mins drive from each other. ;D
