hello, i've been having a problem with mplayer. some of my mp3s don't play because the program detects them as TiVo and exits. i've tried running mplayer -audio-demuxer 17 song.mp3 (like the manual said) but with no success, i receive the exact same message. yes, they are variable bitrate and i've heard mplayer doesn't like them that much but can't i force it to play them as mp3?
here's the exact error message:
Playing /home/gabbath/song.mp3.
Cache fill: 6.35% (532480 bytes) TiVo file format detected.
MPEG: No audio stream found -> no sound.
MPEG: FATAL: EOF while searching for sequence header.
Video: Cannot read properties.
No stream found.
Exiting... (End of file)
any clues? please help
hello,
my first answer would be to suggest using xmms to play these files - but if you are set on using mplayer then have a look at this thread
http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/sh...e=65&pp=15
- apply the patch they are refering to to mplayer, re-compile and see if that helps.
