    FreeBSD

    Well,
    I broke down and am currently installing FreeBSD 4.4 on an OLD laptop I had laying around. Wish me luck.

    me too!

    i broke down and am intalling freeBSD on an old Dell box.
    or rather im TRYING to install freeBSD but so far have failed everytime due to
    kernal error - no valid kernel can be found.
    we me luck too - or maybe prayers to the Saint of hopeless causes.

    BTW, use 6.1. A lot of changes since 4.4.
