    FreeBSD some questions

I haven't been able to get my nvidia card working right in any other distro but SuSE. So I have switched to FreeBSD. My prior intent was unsuccessfull. I was not able to have both win and FreeBSD. That might have been with OpenBSD though.

Any ways; how can I configure my nforce built in nic? Everything I googled was outdated.

BTW I didnt find anything in my ports dir. And I did select ports to be included on install.

    Thanks!

For the ports to be filled, i think you might need to do a `cvsup` - not sure how that worked back when i tried it. EDIT: http://home.sandiego.edu/~reinholz/freebsd/ports.htm <-- There's a link I found

Also, heres how to configure X, if you needed that at all:
    http://home.sandiego.edu/~reinholz/freebsd/xorg1.htm

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/freebsd_1.0-4365.html <- Here's the FreeBSD driver

Here's a thread on support, etc:

They were posted last year. Probably changed URLs since then.

You aren't the only one "http://home.sandiego.edu/~reinholz/" is 404, but it seems an .edu website of a student so maybe the course is over.

    Re:FreeBSD some questions

kudos for the first link. Man I love the wording on that thing if only everything for newbies was written. Perfect! I am deffenetly going to bookmark at FreeBSD guide. You get some karma shebang

Now on nforce(nvnet/nic) how do I con figure that. Those links you pointed me out to where only for the nvidia "Graphics" card not the nic/audio card;nforce. Anyone?

    Re:FreeBSD some questions

Eh, this is probably a given but you'll have to recompile the kernel with specific configurations enabled. I'm not sure which ones as it's been a while since I've used FreeBSD.
