Can you write to DVD-RW discs? Might they make more sense, if they'd work? Just a thought.
Cheers
So I want to back up my hard drive to DVDs. But DVDs hold 4.3 gigs and my harddrive is 200 gigs. That's a lot of DVDs (47, abouts), and I'm willing to take that hit once, but I don't want to burn 47 DVDs each week when I've only made 100 megabytes worth of changes.
So. Is there a way I can use some kind of program like rsync to make automated and incremental backups to a DVD medium? (Maybe rsync will do it, but I'm not very familiar with it.) Thanks for your help.

As opposed to DVD-R? Yeah, I think so. But the problem is not that. The problem is figuring out what to burn to the disc. Is there a program that'll keep a log of what I have already burned on the discs so for each successive backup, I'll know what needs to be backed up?
