Here is Vida Linux. Its basically a GUI (Anaconda really) to Gentoo's Stage 3 install.
If you have been wary of giving Gentoo a shot, here's your chance.

Does this work pretty good? Is it worth giving a try?
My download was corrupt. I had an issue getting the correct one. In the meantime, I got Slack 10. That sofar has been doing the trick (except an intermittent printing issue).
I just installed it. I've been bored during the holidays so I'm trying some different distros.
I just got the current version and so far not bad looking. It does use Anaconda and I didn't have any problems. I chose the AMD XP version.
Now will update the system before installing stuff.
So how has this been treating you? I suppose a mere week isnt all that long, but are there any serious issues?
I got a free CD here that I was going to use for custom made Live-CD that I was working on but Ubuntu is acting gay. I'm downloading VLO and I'll post back with some impressions later in the week.

So far it is running pretty good for me. Using Anaconda, it picked up all my hardware without issues, and it loads cd discs without much effort involved. It installed Java, not sure about Flash, it installed it or either I did it, I can't remember! Emerge works good. It has a GUI program or you can run it from CLI.
I like it pretty much, but lately I've installed FBSD 5.3 and playing around with that now.
