Mozilla Protocol

How do I register a protocol in Mozilla. I click on a yahoo icon to chat with a user in yahoo groups and I get the error message that 'Ymsgr is not a registered protocol'. But I have Gaim open already not Ymessenger. So how do I register it as a protocol?

I'm running Mozilla 1.7.3, but I've noticed this with others too.

Executive Summary

Enter about:config in firefoxes address bar, and press ENTER.
Right click on the screen, New->Boolean.
Enter "network.protocol-handler.external.ymessenger" set it to false.
Revisit whatever website you were at and it should prompt you to set a program for that protocol.
