log in as root, open up a shell, click on something that looks like this if you're using kde
and then type in:
tail -f /var/log/messages

Ok. This is what I got. I don't see anything that jumps out at me as out of the ordinary...
Also, I should add that I am doing all of this posting in Linux. Can't do anything else on the internet though. That is what is so F***ing irritating. It makes no sense to me whatsoever..... Thanks for all your help though everyone. As always, I very much appreciate it.Code:[root@localhost john]# tail -f /var/log/messages Dec 28 19:32:35 localhost fstab-sync[3093]: removed all generated mount points Dec 28 19:32:38 localhost fstab-sync[3243]: added mount point /media/cdrom for / dev/hdc Dec 28 19:32:40 localhost fstab-sync[3324]: added mount point /media/floppy for /dev/fd0 Dec 28 19:33:17 localhost gdm(pam_unix)[3094]: session opened for user john by ( uid=0) Dec 28 19:33:18 localhost gconfd (john-3407): starting (version 2.8.1), pid 3407 user 'john' Dec 28 19:33:18 localhost gconfd (john-3407): Resolved address "xml:readonly:/et c/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory" to a read-only configuration source at position 0 Dec 28 19:33:18 localhost gconfd (john-3407): Resolved address "xml:readwrite:/h ome/john/.gconf" to a writable configuration source at position 1 Dec 28 19:33:18 localhost gconfd (john-3407): Resolved address "xml:readonly:/et c/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults" to a read-only configuration source at position 2 Dec 28 19:33:31 localhost gconfd (john-3407): Resolved address "xml:readwrite:/h ome/john/.gconf" to a writable configuration source at position 0 Dec 28 19:34:39 localhost su(pam_unix)[3552]: session opened for user root by jo hn(uid=500)
