The first thing I would want to know, are what sites are you DL'ing from, and get the average. If it's consistantly bad accross the board, then suspect your Provider, PC, LAN - in that general order. If not, then maybe it's the remote side?? I bet you thought of that, but it helps to get the thinking going, no?


I have DSL (384 KB/s). I used to get 170 KB/s. I don't know why it's happening. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. I have a wired network. One is Windows XP, the other one is my Linux Comp. If it matters, I'm running Slackware 10.0. Is it my cable (that's connected to my router ? ). Is it my network card? And, one of the times, i saw that there are three dhcp clients according to my router setup. However, there are /only/ two comps that are sharing the connection. ???
