SuSE and apt do not mix.

I have not been very smart. I installed SuSE 9.1 Pro. I think that was the first mistake. Then I installed apt, I didn't think that was a mistake. Then I upgraded gaim. That was a mistake. None of my gtk2 apps load anymore. This sucks. No firefox, no gaim, no xchat.

    Code:
    stuart@darkstar:~> xchat
xchat: error while loading shared libraries: /opt/gnome/lib/libpangoft2-1.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_type_class_add_private
    stuart@darkstar:~> evolution-2.0
evolution-2.0: error while loading shared libraries: libplc4.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    stuart@darkstar:~> firefox
/opt/MozillaFirefox/lib/firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: /opt/gnome/lib/libpangoft2-1.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_type_class_add_private
    stuart@darkstar:~>

Upgraded gaim from what to what? Did it have to upgrade gtk in order to upgrade gaim? Maybe try putting on the latest gtk, and if that doesn't work then restore gaim from the SuSE cd?

I was upgrading gaim 0.75 to 1.0 IIRC, and it needed to upgrade gtk2. I did try reverting back to gaim 0.75, but it didn't fix the gtk2 apps.

So I used KDE for a while and then I put Gentoo back on.
