If your lan ip is static, define it on your HOSTS file.
Okay, here's the dillemma, I have adsl hooked up to one nic in my box, and the other nic is hooked up to the lan in my building (university residence). Now through the lan i have an internet connection also, but I have to have an ssh connection open to 10.0.0.1 for it to work, basically making it so that it's not always connected.
I want to use adsl as my internet connection, but still have lan access, but I don't want to use the internet connection on the lan. I have it set up, and for the most part it works ok, but sometimes my connection dies because it tries to access the internet through the lan, and it won't use the adsl. If I disable the lan nic it works fine, but that's a pain in the ass.
is there any way I can tell windows to only access IP's in a certain range using the lan nic, and for all other connections to use the adsl? Thanks.
