I've been having one hell of a time using gvim over SSH using x forwarding. Here's the setup:
Engineering faculty Solaris servers at the school running some hardware synthesis tools.
Me running ssh in windows under Cygwin with X forwarding enabled to log in to the solaris servers and run their X applications on my win32 desktop.
The problem is gvim. Visual mode won't work. I type Ctrl+V for visual block, and the editor changes to say "Visual Block", but as soon as I type a direction it goes away like I never pressed anything to begin with! I'm using the exact same .gvimrc that I'm using on my desktop and my desktop Visual mode works great. I'm assuming this is an issue with gvim being transported over ssh.
Does anyone know how to eliminate this and get my my visual block mode back?
