    LimeWire for Linux

    hey hey

I have recently converted from Windows to Linux, and I am loving it. I'm learning how to unpack .RPM files manually, but i'm having a lot of trouble with the installation of this program, which is a .BIN file. Here are the details of what I'm doing:
    1. I open up the terminal and cd to /home/miickee (the directory my file is in) and type "sh ./LimeWireLinux.bin". It starts unpacking the file, but says:
    "[miickee@localhost miickee]$ cd /home/miickee
    [miickee@localhost miickee]$ sh ./LimeWireLinux.bin
    Preparing to install...
tail: `-1' option is obsolete; use `-n 1'
Try `tail --help' for more information.
    ./LimeWireLinux.bin: line 326: [: `)' expected, found -z
WARNING! The amount of /tmp disk space required and/or available
could not be determined. The installation will be attempted anyway.
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...
No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH
environment variable. You must install a VM prior to
    running this program.
    [miickee@localhost miickee]$
    [miickee@localhost miickee]$"

It's weird, because I have installed many versions of Java.

If anyone has any answers, I'd love to hear from you.
    miickEe.

What happens when you type "java --version" in a terminal? Also, where did you get this bin file? It could be that whoever made it has stopped maintaining it, so all its dependencies have evolved to the point that the original program no longer works, similar to the way that win 3.1 programs can't be expected to run perfectly on XP.
